It is possible to achieve the desired outcomes by giving up Laziness.

It is possible to achieve the desired outcomes by giving up Laziness.

The ones who are awake are always wary of laziness and negligence; they understand the science of learning in this universe. These people attain peace and are called great ones. (Rigveda 5/16/14)

The person who is awake is always vigilant. Wake up, and don’t stop until you achieve your goal. This is the main message by Swami Vivekananda.

There’s also a hymn—”Wake up friend, the sun has risen, it’s no longer night for you to sleep “— the one who rests now, losses, and the one who is up, succeeds. That is, get up; it’s only then that you’ll be able to get something else the human life will be wasted. Wake up first, and then be free. It means if our eyes are heavy with darkness because of arrogance, laziness, pride, indifference, and the factors of dullness-then how are we free? We need to be conscious and aware of our responsibilities. We’re expected to do our deeds, not be affected by laziness. Kabirdas says “Do what needs to be done tomorrow, now, and what needs to be done today, now. If the time is missed, how will the goal be accomplished?

By following this practice, one becomes the bearer of God’s attributes. This world is made for conscious people. Only they can leave their laziness behind in order to gain true knowledge from their efforts. With the power of knowledge and science, they create a number of useful things for everyone’s peace and contentment. This, in turn, gives them happiness and grandeur. They can conveniently get all the amenities of the world.

Lazy people run towards joy and happiness and hope for positive things. They do not accomplish anything because no efforts are made. These people are vengeful in nature, and righteousness is far from them. There is no enemy more deadly than laziness. Until the road of laziness and pleasure is left to take the direction of efforts and creativity, sustainable progress is unlikely.

In order to receive the grace of God, we must offer the flowers of our enterprise, courage, patience, wisdom, devotion and might at His feet. God also helps only those who make an effort themselves. There is a Sanskrit phrase,“udyamena hi siddhayanti, kāryāṇi na manoratheṃ, nahi suptasya siṃhasya praviśānti mukhe mṛgā ।” In other phrases, the completion of a task is achieved by venturing and acting, and is not done by mere thought. Like a deer does not enter the sleeping lion’s mouth on its own.

The lion has to work hard, and only then does he get a deer to satisfy the hunger. There is another popular Sanskrit saying, ālasyam hi manuṣyāyām, śarīrasyo mahāripu That is, laziness is man’s greatest enemy. Thus, by sacrificing laziness, progress can be made in society and in the country. And thereby, one can achieve physical and spiritual progress.
